Xbox and Google OnHub issues?

Hey everyone.

I've been dealing with this for about two weeks.

I have an Xbox one, 150mbs internet speed with Comcast their gateway/modem and wired from there is my Google TP-Link OnHub router. (The gateway is creating a wifi for downstairs and the Onhub is doing the wifi for upstairs.)

I've had this set up (without the Onhub and with a different one) for years and within the past year I moved the router to my room. We got the Onhub about 2 months ago. I wire my XB1 through the Onhub.

Starting about two weeks ago, I started having issues where in the middle of playing a game I would secretly be disconnected from XBL. And the only way to be able to connect again is to power cycle the gateway, the Onhub router, and the XBox.

This solution lasts a few days, and then stops working.

Potential trouble shooting :

I have tried, after being disconnected before power cycling, switching to wireless which doesn't work. I've also tried connecting to wifi through the Onhub router and manually setting everything, the XBox has selected a different IP address with a completely
different home address. (A 192 vs 168)

I've tried directly plugging the wire from the wall to the XBox. But once it disconnects it is perminant until the power cycle.

Any ideas? Anyone else having issues with an Onhub?

Google Tv and Xbox One

I was wondering if anyone knows if the xbox one will work better then the Xbox 360 on a Google Tv. As we know the google tv has horrible lag when it comes to playing the xbox 360. Just needed to know if this will still be the case with the xbox one or
have they repaired this with google tvs.

Unforunatelt it's a problem with Google Tv, not what is connected to it, so Xbox One or whatever you connect would be the same.

There are things you can do to help though.

Make sure you go and turn off all of the processing settings in the picture settings

Cinemotion especially , if you have a TV with that option

Sharpness at 0

Noise reduction off

Mpeg noise reduction off

anything that can be turned to OFF should be.

This will help with the lag lots

 

Well that sucks.. I have never used a onHub but I have had similar issues before. Here is what I would suggest to do.

Step 1: Unplug your modems power cord. Then unplug your onHub power cord. Leave them unplugged for 30 seconds minimum. I would suggest that you leave them unplugged for 10 full minutes. This will cause your modem to drop your ISP and ARP
tables to truly refresh them.

Step 2: Unplug your xbox power cord.

Step 3: Plug your modem back in. Wait for all the lights to come back on then plug your onHub back in.

Step 4: Plug your xbox back in.

Now if none of that works the last thing I would suggest to do is go in and factory reset your onHub. When I was having issues this is what I ended up having to do. Some random setting I had changed messed things up. After the factory reset things were solid
again.
