Xbox Always Disconnecting During Matchmaking Multiplayer

Hey guys! So whenever I play Xbox, I can go anywhere on the dashboard and join any parties, even on games that I'm playing single player on its fine and I can connect. As soon as I try to join a multiplayer matchmaking game, it's disconnection after disconnection.
The only thing that works is if I play GTA Online in an invite only session and only go into gamechat, and that'll only work for like an hour. I have tried deleting my profile many times as well as clearing my cache and nothing has helped. I'm getting really
sick and tired of the disconnections and I just wanna play online with my friends. If you could help and give some tips to help that would be great. Thanks!

Xbox live disconnecting during multiplayer

I cant play online for more than half an hour before i get disconnected from xbox live. I can play a singleplayer game all day online and not get disconnected once, but playing any multiplayer match on any game will take me offline in less than an hour.
Its been doing this for a little less than a month now and from what i know, none of my friends that use services other than comcast, have this issue. Can someone please help me because i am tired of not being able to enjoy games with friends.

Xbox live disconnecting during multiplayer

This issue has followed me from the xbox one to the xbox scropio... Not sure why if a COD or other online multi's kick the accounts offline to the point you have to reboot the console then it gets back online for a little bit till it happens again. it is
even worse if i am in a chat channel with friends... I speed test and run connection test with 170 mb a sec down 23 up and zero pack lost. This needs to be addressed.

Internet Expert

Multiplayer on Xbox requires logging into Xbox Live, regardless if the games provide their own dedicated servers to host matches. Xbox Live services are still needed to provide the matchmaking and other multiplayer functionality.

Are you playing on the 360 or One?

I was having a problem with the 360 version re: long waits in matchmaking and frequent disconnects but not on the Xbox One.

There is still an issue from time to time with hit detection/lag (those games where no matter what you do, they always shoot first and you never hit a thing) but that is totally down to matchmaking and does not happen every game.

I am plugged in to a wired connection in MB, Canada, with a 7mbps connction. I often get disconnects with Netflix (often preceeded by bad picture quality - 1 bar). When I do a speedtest I always get 6+mbps right at the time of disconnect. This didn't start
happening until recently.

I have also been getting server disconnects recently during multiplayer.

The worst time for me is after 10pm. This is when there is less traffic so speeds should be better.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues with crossplay on your Xbox console.

Players on Xbox consoles can adjust crossplay options through in-game settings or through the console settings. Please note that console settings will take priority over in-game settings.

Multiplayer Unranked Crossplay (on consoles)

Open the Options menu.

Navigate to Settings and select Account & Network.

Under Multiplayer Unranked Crossplay, select one of the following:

ON: Allow matchmaking with other gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Unranked playlists.

ON (CONSOLE ONLY): Allow matchmaking with other console gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Unranked playlists.

May negatively impact matchmaking quality

OFF: Multiplayer Unranked matchmaking only uses your current gaming platform.

Will negatively impact matchmaking quality

Multiplayer Ranked Crossplay (on consoles)

Open the Options menu.

Navigate to Settings and select Account & Network.

Under Ranked Crossplay, select one of the following:

ON: Allow matchmaking with other gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Ranked playlists.

ON (CONSOLE ONLY): Allow matchmaking with other console gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Ranked playlists.

OFF: Multiplayer Ranked matchmaking only uses your current gaming platform.

Follow these steps to Allow or Block crossplay.

Select your Gamertag at the top of the Xbox PC app.

Select Settings.

On the Account tab, scroll down to Privacy settings and select Manage.

On the right side of the screen, select the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab.

Select Allow or Block for the You can join cross-network play option.

Select Submit.
