Xbox Additional authentication issues

I currently live in a dorm/hotel at the moment. To access my dorms wifi I have to authenticate on the dorms website. Normally I get prompted to authenticate my user name and password via edge. It wasn't a problem before the update. But after the update
I get booted out of the browser because I'm not connected to Xbox live. I can't connect to Xbox live without logging in to the portal. Is anyone else experiencing this with Edge on Xbox

Are you connecting in a student dorm WiFi, or an apartment complex that provides WiFi to the inhabitants? It might be, that when you first connected your other devices to the network, you were presented with a welcome page,
where you had to authenticate your devices by agreeing to the WiFi's terms of use, or provide a code or password you got from your landlord or whoever runs the WiFi.

Since that has to be only once, you might have forgotten about it.

If you try to connect the Xbox One to that network, it might require you to visit the portal page again, and authenticate the Xbox access with the WiFi.

know that technique however the entire reason why this prompt attached was added was to avoid having to mimic Mac addresses. This wasn't a problem until a recent update two weeks ago

 

If I hit "authenticate now" I get this error which makes no sense
