Xbox adaptive controller won’t turn on anymore!

I’ve went through every single troubleshooting steps and it still won’t turn on. I’ve had it for a few months but only started using it recently within the past month or so. I took a one week break after multiple extended sessions and when trying to turn
it on it just wouldn’t come on. That’s when I followed the entirety of the troubleshooting options and even tried contacting Microsoft but so far the only thing it said I could do was post on this stupid forum. It literally will just not work! I’m pretty sure
the power supply or battery within the controller must just be dead for whatever reason. I guess I just have bad luck. What can I do about this? All I need is to get it replaced or repaired but I don’t know how to contact Microsoft directly, as it told me
this was my only option after saying I couldn’t make a phone call about this issue. They even delayed my service order and said that there were no service options available for this issue. It seems that I’m basically screwed...

    Hi Cody,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your adaptive controller, as well as having a hard time with trying to get ahold of someone to help with the issue. But I'll be glad to tell you what you need to do.

    1.) Go check out the
    warranty status
of your adaptive controller. (I've made "warranty status" a link)

2.) Enter the necessary information to show if your controller is under warranty if you haven't already done so previously. From there, it should tell you if your warranty is still valid and then you can go ahead and file a warranty claim from there.

If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to post them. Hopefully this helps you out alittle bit more than your previous attempts have. :)

Xbox adaptive controller won’t turn on anymore!

Hey! Thanks for the response. So the issue I’m running into now is I can’t seem to find the Xbox adaptive controller serial number. I’ve searched all over the unit, even entering in four random numbers on the bottom, but to no avail. Even the Xbox website
shows you how to find serial numbers on multiple devices, all except the adaptive controller for whatever reason.

Xbox adaptive controller no longer drawing power from PC

    Hey there
    JesseNieboer
    ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for help with this. I can totally understand how confusing this could be. IF the troubleshooting steps that you have tried and that is outlined in The
buttons on my Xbox Adaptive Controller aren’t responding
or My Xbox Adaptive Controller won’t turn on don't resolve the issue,
then I would indeed say that your controller might be experiencing a hardware problem. I suggest following the steps outlined here on

How do I replace my Xbox Adaptive Controller?
    to have your product replaced.

    Hope this information was helpful.

    Thanks!

    Xbox Controller Settings

Usually, if the controller is paired with the PC, it should not turn on the console anymore, as it should only be able to be bound to one single devic.

There is no setting to "force" the console to stay off when a bound controller is turned on. What Adapter did you get? Is it a Bluetooth adapter or an actual Xbox Wireless gaming adapter?

Can you try to connect the controller to the PC via a Micro-USB data cable (be aware that some smartphone charging cables only have the power lines connected, but have no data lines, so the controller won't be properly detected with such charging cables)?

If you connect it once with an USB cable, the controller should "forget" it was bound to the console, and now that it's bound to the PC, should not turn on the console anymore.

Xbox turns on then turns off. Tried resetting 4 times now the fan is loud

The fan problem stopped, but the Xbox won’t even turn on anymore. Is this a sign I need to get a new xbox
