XBox account was charged but order failed

Thank you, I would like to let you know that when a charge on your account has failed for a pre-order, there will be another attempt at a charge a few days later. If that second attempt fails to successfully charge, your pre-order will be canceled, and you'll need to repurchase the desired game again after you have added a valid payment option to your account in order to access it again.

It is important to point out that the first charge you received when placing the pre-order was just a test charge / authorization charge, and after a few days the charge disappeared.

You may want to contact your bank for more information about why they were not able to process the real charge.

If you have been charged you may need to reach out to your bank to dispute the charge.

This means that you'll need to have a valid payment option on your account at least 10 days before a game release to avoid any billing issues. After a charge on your account has failed for a pre-order, there will be another attempt at a charge a few days later. Per the FAQ - "All pre-orders typically charge customers 10 days before the game release date. So, no, you cannot pause/delay the payment. If the payment fails after 2 attempts the pre-order is cancelled and you would need to do the purchase again.

It's possible that your pre-order got failed. Please check it on your account order history via https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders. Check if the status of your order says failed or canceled.

Please note that when pre-ordering an item or game from Xbox, you only get charged around 10 days before the release date. So you may have not noticed that the payment was unsuccessful.
