Xbox account swap.

I am sorry you are having this problem. I will give you a detailed idea for the resolution

Step 1. Create a new Microsoft Account for Gamertag 1 (if you already have a spare Microsoft Account attatched to no services and is 30 days or older that would be better)

Step 2. Recover the laptop Microsoft Account/Gamer tag to your Xbox 360

Step 3. The account must remain on the console for a minimum of 30 days before the switch can take place.

Step 4. After the 30 days has taken place, switch your laptop e-mail address to the created or spare Microsoft Account.

Step 5. Ensuring your primary Xbox account has also been on your console for a minimum of 30 days, begin the switch to your laptop e-mail address that has been released from containing the gamer tag on your laptop that occurred when switching the gamer tag
e-mail to the created or spare eligible Microsoft Account registered for 30 days.

Step 5. Complete, your primary Gamertag will be associated with your laptop e-mail address.

Please take careful note:

I would advise the changes to both accounts to be done on the same day.

The laptop account should be first to switch for obvious reasons, to free it from the gamer tag its associated to.

Please do not recover any of the two xbox accounts until 30 days has passed otherwise within 30 days the counter for the 30 day minimum requirement for the account to be eligible to switch from the console will be reset.

So in short.

Download both accounts to your xbox 360, leave them there for 30 days before attempting to switch, and within that time do not attempt to recover either one of them, and then when the 30 days is up, refer to steps above in order.

It is annoying that it has to take so long to fix the issue you are having, but security measures have yo be taken

It would be great indeed, even to merge accounts.

I'm not sure where Microsoft stands on this matter, let's hope someday this feature becomes available for all us users.

But right now, unfortunately, there's not possible.

I highly recommend suggesting to bring back the option to swap accounts, as it was a previous feature on older consoles. Another alternative should be to allow people to swap the alias emails without deleting the other email permanently if it was created on outlook or hotmail

Unfortunately, there's no way to swap or merge Microsoft accounts. :/

The only thing you could do is to create a new alias for one account, which is only associating another email address (assuming that this new email address is not associated with any existing accounts.) to that same account.

If you have 2 created account's already, you cannot swap the Xbox profiles between those two.

Edit: I realize now that I have made a mistake by changing my account to a separate email so I will be waiting a month no matter what now.

P.S. No edit button? or is that because this account is technically not the same account?
