    Xbox account is still active but the Microsoft Account attached is dead and not showing up...


    Hi, I took a hiatus from my Xbox for a while and now I'm having issues accessing my account. Basically my account is over 8yrs old and I have the email information attached to my Microsoft authenticator but the "passwordless" codes don't work to log in, it tells me "Error communicating with server", and when I try change password it says, "Try entering your Microsoft account again. We don't recognize this one." The email ends in @aim.com, which isn't a provider any more and I am also unable to access it to reset my password through AOL. My account is still there when I search for it on Xbox Live, it's just the log in information that for some reason no longer exists.. Also, The account is still logged in on my old Xbox360 but it won't let me change anything within the console without an account password. Is there anything else I can try to get access back?

    Secondary profiles will not log on

    I have changed the password for my account twice, and have no problem signing onto the Microsoft account. The primary profile works fine. It's the secondary profiles that won't sign on. It doesn't even recognize the yahoo account as being a Microsoft
    account, yet it shows up on the console as being attached to the profile, and Microsoft still sends it spam with my gamertag attached to it.

    If the account has only been active on the Xbox One the activity will not show up just yet. Xbox.com is still only showing Xbox 360 activity.

    It may be inactive on Xbox but it could well be attached to an active Microsoft account, using other Microsoft products and services.

    As long as that gamertag is attached to an active Microsoft account, it will stay unavailable.
