Xbox account followers

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. The problem is this, I recently cleaned up my friends list. I removed and blocked everyone I did not want anymore. Everything was fine except for four specific friends. When I remove them as a friend and then block them the show up in the block section but it still says they are following me. Is this a glitch or bug? Or is there a fix for this. I really do not like having this issue so if someone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

So I did all of that and the 4 friends I used to have are not on my friends list but they are still showing up as following me even when I have them blocked and unblocked. Also, I am not on their friends list anymore nor am I in their followers list. Any other ideas or suggestions?

Hey Staniel, I really appreciate you answering my question. I completely and totally understand what your saying. I am going to try what you suggested with the privacy and safety. I did just want to add one thing. I have checked and I am no longer on any of the four peoples friends list that I mentioned and they are not on mine. So theoretically I should not be following them and they should not be following me. I’ll mess with the settings you told me tonight and I’ll reply on here again with the outcome. Again I really appreciate it. Thank you.

So, just want to start by defining what a follower vs friend is on Xbox. A follower is simply anyone who has added you to their friends list. A friend is someone who has added you back. What you are doing is correct. If you block them, then they can't communicate with you or check your activity and such.

I would just double check that your privacy and online safety settings are up to date and keep the above definitions in mind when doing so as some of the settings allow for everyone or just friends options.

We cannot really control that from happening because anyone can follow us. If someone botted you followers it shouldn't be your fault. So long as you didn't violate any of the Xbox Community Standards here https://www.xbox.com/legal/community-standards you're account should be good.

btw since its possible that some of the xbox accounts that followed me on xbox could be bots, how do I actually whether or not is a xbox account is actually a bot account

Moreover, why must they follow me on xbox though, because there are literally thousands of other xbox accounts that they can follow instead, like some of the xbox accounts have like a high gamerscore whereby the random xbox accounts could follow them instead
