    Xbox account does not display friend avatars or my own.


    I recently had a major issue with my xbox one which will quickly explain.

    Apps would not display correctly and could not download or move any games/apps between my internal/external hard drives. Xbox support tried to help but unfortunately my xbox then got stuck on the xbox green logo screen. We tried using USB to offline update/factory
    reset both of which failed.

    I have since then bought a brand new xbox one!! I have set it up and logged in with my profile on the new console. I can not see my avatar, i cannot see my friends avatars. The apps and games boxes are not displaying when i go into my games/apps section
    all i can see if the name but no picture. I have logged in with my wifes account and hers is doing exactly the same.

    Any ideas??

    how do I create a guest account ?

    I have the same question. On the Xbox 360 you could create accounts there were not tied to Xbox live. This allowed my guests to have their own avatars and play games with their own local profiles.

    How do you do this on the Xbox One? Think of friends of my children who do not have email or Xbox live accounts.

    Suggestion: Friends List UI needs to be updated...

    The friends list UI seems a little convoluted and does not show avatars any longer. What is the purpose of have the option to create an avatar and not show one when looking at your own profile or friends' profile. The friends list needs to be updated to
    a less convoluted UI.

    Hello, eas1978!

    From what I think, this might be a connection problem? Have you run any Speed Test in the room where your Xbox Console is? (Which are available Online and from your ISP.) Anyway, this is what I it could be.

    • A Hardware or Software issue
    Perhaps there is a problem with your External drive? Or maybe the second Xbox just so happens to have the same problem with it's Hard Drive Device (HDD)?

    • A Connection issue
    Maybe your connection is not able to load all of the necessitates that Xbox needs to operate at full capacity. Try doing a Detailed Network Statistics test via the Xbox Settings then Network Settings. If you see any Download or Upload speeds lower than 3.00
    Mbps, Packet loss more than 0%, and or Signal Strength at a low number, that is probably your issue. Consider contacting you ISP, if you have network problems.

    I hope I have assisted you or at least shed some light on what the problem could be.

    We recommend having your friend sign into the
    Xbox 360 purchase history     to check for that content.

    ALL content owned by an account will be displayed here.

    If your friend is not able to locate those maps and DLC then their account does not own the content and does not have access to them.

    Post back and let us know what you are able to find!

    Xbox One maybe uploaded corrupted Avatar file

    Correct - I treid on Xbox One X of my friend and I logged in on another Windows 10 PC with Avatar app (and on my own W10 laptop of course).

    Everywhere the same "problem - avatar could not be loaded". :-(

    Other accounts work fine, it's just my main account that shows that problem.

    Hello Hollified Ninja,

    Avatar items can be display on your personal Avatar on the Xbox One.

    Gamerpics, however, are not. You have to use one of the ones provided for you or create your own using your Avatar.
