Xbox account Deleted But Cant Get The Username From it!

I deleted my account and it said it would delete on the 16th of July and its the 17th and I cant get the name and no one has it so please help.

Gamertags don't get automatically released the minute an account is closed...sometimes it can take some time

Just to be aware: The system may say that a particular gamertag is not in use...however, that doesn't mean it is the case as MS now allow multiple people to have the same GT and simply adds some numbers to the end to denote it's a different person.

Also, i cant delete the gamer tag that is on THIS email adress if that makes a difference. Ideally id just delete this xbox live gamer tag and then change the email from my real account to this email. but I also cant find a way to delete a gamer tag/xbox
live account

That is strange that your account got deleted as adding a phone number for recovery information wouldn't delete it, it will only got deleted if you have deleted the account manually on the Microsoft account page.

It is possible that your gamertag is associated on a different email address than the one you have tried to check. Do you remember having another email account that you might have used for Xbox or other Microsoft services? Once you sign in your account at https://account.xbox.com/profile page you will see here the gamertag and if its the correct one it will show the "ImpliedGarlic95" gamertag.

You may also try to recover your username via this page by entering your phone number https://account.live.com/username/recover

Thank you so much Ben, I used the username recover page to recover my old username but because it was a microsoft generated username i cant remember it. Is there any way to unhide the username so i can open my account again?

Also the account it says it is on my xbox is an AOL account. I tried to contact them to see if they could make me a temp account. But the obviously deleted the email as it wasnt in use for a while. Basically all i want to do is delete my xbox account from
my email so i can simply make a new xboxlive username

What will happen to inactive xbox one accounts?

If there is an inactive account with a username i want could i claim the username?

An inactive Xbox account will be deleted after being inactive for 5 years. If you have made a purchase on that account, It will not be deleted. My best advice would be to have a slight alteration of the desired username to be unique. As an example, if the
name Deathzone117 is taken, you can try . I hope this helps,
