Xbox Account - Child Usage

Good morning,

I have an on going and frustrating issue that has recently been turned up. I created a Xbox user name for my son. We use to be play Minecraft together, I would play on my computer, he would play on his Xbox login, and I pay for realms, so we would play together.

I guess with the new Minecraft update Microsoft has decided to innovate themselves into problems. I now cannot have my sons login, on his Xbox, access my realm.

My Xbox account, I pay for game pass. Now the new error it comes up with, it is asking his login to sign up for a game pass subscription.

This has been a frustrating problem for a while now.

I may just make him a whole new login, but I would like to avoid that.

Any help is appreciated.

Which gamepass are you talking about

Gamepass for PC OR gamepass standard

If you are using gamepass for pc for access to Minecraft on pc and using the same account on console To share then no

As gamepass for pc wont work on console

You need gamepass standard or ultimate for console

If you want to share a subscription for both pc and console you need ultimate which includes bothpc and console titles

Another solution since pc doesn't need a subscription other then realms

Is buy Minecraft on pc and keep realms on your profile and buy gamepass standard for minecraft access on console or buy core and Minecraft

Thank you for bringing this inquiry to us here on the forums. I understand you are trying to see screen usage limits for your sons child account is that correct? You would have to sign into an adult account responsible for the child account in the family
and set up the screen time limits from the adult account for the child account. Give it a try and let us know how it goes with a reply.

Thanks for the clarification. The front xbox will be 99.9% child /spouse usage.

So, my understanding to share library is that I would make a guest or "dummy" account on the secondary box, set that device as home from my primary device, and then it's good to use?

Unfortunately, the money on an account cannot be transferred, at least currently, between accounts.

This is so annoying especially for people I know since some of us are on child accounts we have to use other accounts to get download content in our region so I cant even use the codes unless this gets fixed.

p.s I checked the usage restriction prior to downloading it and it said it should be usable on all accounts on the console anyone else having a child account download problem?
