    So, I've been having a real lousy time with returning my power supply after it failed. To their credit, basically everybody on phone support was incredibly helpful and friendly, and went above and beyond to give a great support experience. However, I do
    think it's incredibly silly that I need to pay money out of my own pocket to ship the power brick to the support center in Laredo. It seems doubly silly that the only compensation I can get is an extra two months of Xbox Live Gold, and sadly, at this point,
    I'm so fed up with Microsoft hardware and support that the last thing I want is

    Xbox Live. After this current issue I'm really unhappy with Microsoft/Xbox - I gave them one last shot after my misadventures with the 360 (I went through
    four(!) consoles during the whole RRoD thing) - I figured there'd be no way I'd have another hardware problem. I pretty much only bought this one because my BFFS from high school decided to stay with it.

    I've been trying to find a way to contact someone in a more managerial position to explain how dissatisfied I am with the policy on accessories. Namely, I am befuddled that A.) the power supply, an
    integral part of a functioning piece of electronics is considered an "accessory," and is therefore subject to the fulfillment order policy, and B.) that I therefore must pay out of pocket (despite the fact that Microsoft will pay to ship the
    much, much, much bulkier console). My last bit of customer loyalty is increasingly frayed. I'm not even sure I want compensation - I just want somebody with the ability to make real, actual decisions to be aware of how bizarre and unpleasant this policy appears
    to people outside the Microsoft support organization. I realize that's probably a bunch of quixotic nonsense, but whatever. I'm really annoyed.

  2. I need a shipping label to return my controller that is under warranty. It's been over a week.

    The ONLY devices that get a shipping label to return even under warranty would be the Console, Power Brick (original xbox one), and Kinect.

    otherwise any accessory would be self shipping where you would be responsible for the shipping to the support center.

    They would then send you a replacement accessory they will not even try to repair the device.

    The accessories (anything other then the three things listed above) have a 90 day warranty. The three things above have a 1 year manufactures warranty.

    If you're in the states you can call them at 800-469-9269

    Consoles and Kinect sensors would receive a shipping label for you to send back the device.

    If it's an accessory like a controller, shipping is not covered. You have to pay for that on your own.

    I'm right there with you, NobleMrPenguin. I'm feeling all kinds of pain over here. The funny (not so funny) part is that Microsoft gets deeply discounted rates on shipping, yet they decide to make you pay, and when they do ship something, it is on the
    slow boat... sad, sad customer service. Welcome to the club. You are not alone.

    Right there with you. While my power supply hasn't failed, it is unbelievably noisy and distracting (enough so that I can be reasonably expected to consider putting the console in stand-by mode.) It seems to be getting progressively worse, too. Microsoft
    wants me to pay $20 to ship a new one. Absolutely ridiculous. I contacted Amazon, where I pre-ordered the console from, and explained the situation to them and about my various conversations with Microsoft. Because I'm past the return window, they wouldn't
    exchange it, but they did offer me a 20% refund to compensate for the ridiculous charge from Microsoft. At least one company cares about its customers.

    Hope you never have to get your Elite controller repaired. Xbox Support Story.

    Xbox accessories are not repaired they are replaced if in warranty. And shipping is not covered for accessories. Only the Xbox console and Kinect will get a shipping label. It's been that way before the Xbox one was released. Some support agents misunderstand
    the process and they have now way to override the way the system is setup.
