    my xbox elite controller can no longer map the view or start button to a paddle. I have had this settup for almost a year and now I can no longer map the view or start button to anything else. This layout is very important for playing
    halo 5 and it can no longer be mapped correctly. Why is the ability to do this taken away? I can hold down the paddle and enter the view button and it shows up, but when I back out it changes to an unmapped button. I need to know if this was specifically taken
    out as an option or if this is some kind of bug. It was working correctly until today but once I changed some of the settings and backed out the view button mapped to one of my paddles no longer works. Please let me know if there is some kind of work around
    because this is very important to me playing halo correctly.

    Elite Controller, no drivers?

    The paddles on the Elite controller can only be mapped through the Xbox Accessories app on the Xbox One or Windows 10, otherwise they default to ABXY. They are mapped through the controller itself, you press a paddle on the controller, the controller then
    sends the mapped command to the PC/Console. Thus they can only be mapped to duplicate other buttons on the controller and cannot be mapped to commands that are "outside" of the regular Xbox Controller inputs.

    Basically they aren't an extra 4 buttons, rather an alternative 4 buttons.

    Also, if they are not responding at all, try double tapping the sync button on the top of the controller. When turning the paddles off, you get 4 short bursts of vibration, when turning the paddles on, you get one longer burst of vibration.

    February Controller Update Power Issue

    Since updating my controller I can no longer power my controller with the micro usb! Is Microsoft taking this option away or have they removed this option in error? I can still power controller with batteries (but prefer micro usb cord)

    I have never heard of malicious script for a controller on Xbox. My best guess is there is a problem with the controller itself. You can try updating the controller. You cannot also check the accessories app on the xbox and see how things are mapped.

    Hey there J K Twinkle!

    Sorry to hear you are unable to map the Triggers to the A & B buttons. I did attempt to map my Adaptive controller and was able to do this through the Xbox accessories app.

    Go ahead and take a look at the following support page for help on Mapping your Xbox One adaptive.

    Once you are on the Button Mapping screen you can select the A button and you should see the options to map it to a specific function, in this case you would be looking for the Left Trigger. Same thing with the B button you will map that one to the Left
    Trigger.

    Give this a try and let us know if it has helped.

    Just home from buying a new elite.

    Plugged it in with Usb-cable and played for 5mins, after that I was curious of the button re-mapping. Installed the Xbox accessories and it wanted to update the controller.

    After this the controller inputs are dead.

    My problem sounds exactly the same as yours.

    Pls solve this!
