Xbox Accessories doesn't let me change layout or add new configuration of Elite controller

Latest version of Windows, got brand new elite controller and Xbox accessories app.

Controller connects and plays just fine, but when I go into Xbox Accessories to change the layout it doesn't let me. The 2 options just say 'default' and I can't edit them. From seeing Youtube videos I know that I can click add new configuration and just
make a new one - but it only lets me give it a name and change button layouts etc it doesn't let me save to one of the actual configurations!

Also I tried going to community layouts and adding those configurations. The actual button greys out to confirm I have added it, yet when I come out onto the main screen nothing is added.

I've reinstalled the app, turned controller on and off - no luck. What can I do?

Microsoft ELITE Xbox one Controller: no configurations present in the Xbox Accessories app

I just bought a new Microsoft Elite Xbox One controller. I have one at work, and got one for home.

In the Xbox Accessories app, i can customize the configurations, and add new ones on the controller i have at work. Mine on the other hand does not work. I tried to add community configurations, create new ones, edit the current Default settings, and will
not save the configs.

I tried it on 2 PCs, my gamepad always has this issue, the other one doesn't. A wired connection was used.

Xbox Accessories App (Win 10) update issues

It seems like the Xbox Accessories App on Windows 10 recently updated (v300.1804.2001.0) with some new UI changes and whatnot, but it also made about half of the game configurations on my Elite controller disappear, and most of the app itself doesn't work
right. Clicking the rename, delete, or copy configuration buttons does absolutely nothing. Editing seems to work OK, but the rest of the main functions simply do not respond. Whats up?
