Xbox accessories app

OK, This stupid, stupid xbox accessories app does not work on my xbox one console with the Elite controller or any other controller for that matter. It will not even open. It worked in early 2017 but not any more.

So I downloaded the app onto my windows 10 PC and it wouldn't work on that system either until I updated the "xbox identity provider app" that is preinstalled with windows 10 & now it works flawlessly on the PC.

Now, back to the xbox one console;

going by Google and the hundreds of posters with the same problem means that there was obviously a file corruption in the app which was caused by an xbox firmware update back in mid 2017.

But this stupid app cannot be uninstalled & therefore it cannot be reinstalled to sort it out. So it is nothing more than junk that I cannot get rid of, and the exorbitant amount of money I paid for the Xbox Elite controller is a waste when you cannot even
configure the buttons with the app,, that was the whole point of buying the dam Elite controller.

Microsoft, Xbox and just about every man and his dog have known about this problem for months or maybe even a year but do you think Microsoft will rectify the issue.. No way, they don't even give a hoot about the problem.

Although, I did contact them & spoke to an xbox expert (so he said) and his advice was to uninstall the app & to reinstall and try again,, but there is no uninstall option with this stupid, stupid app. Isn't that just typical of some these experts, they
know less than you do but get paid twice as much.

Microsoft please wake up and fix the stupid, stupid xbox accessories APP

Xbox Accessories check battery level

Using windows 10, I want to check my battery level on my MICROSOFT XBOX ONE CONTROLLER.

The APP says use "Xbox Accessories" APP.

I open Xbox Accessories APP.

Xbox Accessories says "PLUG IN CONTROLLER" so I do

The APP will NOT tell me the battery level because it is PLUGGED IN.

These APPS are the cheapest, POS I have ever seen. DO BETTER MICROSOFT!

Xbox Elite controller won’t let me map the buttons and save them

If you talked to an actual Xbox Support Agent saying that, they probably use a Nintendo or PS. But If you're in one of the Xbox Insiders Preview rings like the Alpha Skip Ahead ring, that might be why it won't work. It works fine on my console and I'm
in the Delta ring now but going back to the Public OS version soon. I wish you luck though.

You can try installing it again or clearing the MAC address/power cycling the console to refresh it. I would also just check to make sure it doesn't need an update

If the power cycle suggested above doesn't work:

Are you doing this on Xbox or Windows 10? (There's an Xbox Accessories app on both platforms.)

If the one you're trying isn't working, you can attempt to use the app on the other platform (if you have it available) to see if that is any better. Changes made to the controller settings in the Windows 10 app would still, I believe, hold true when you use
the controller on Xbox One.
