XBox Accessories App won't keep my configuration on Bluetooth

I recently downloaded the Xbox Accessories app for my XBox controller

when I opened it, it says 'This controller is connected via Bluetooth. Connect with a USB cable to configure it.'

So I connected it with a USB cable and was able to configure the buttons the way I wanted, saved it and used the test function to make sure it was right but as soon as I disconnected the USB the controller started flashing and I had to go back into bluetooth
settings to reconnect it. Once that was done the controller had forgotten the button settings I had selected.

Am I missing a step before I disconnect the USB cable?

sorry to hear. And no you do not missed a step!! The XBOX Accessories App do not work propper. There are some threads in the web telling MS "Please do a fix". As I know, you have to stay connected but also in some games you have the possibility to set your
Controller INGAME.

If you would like, you can send in an idea through the
Xbox ideas hub to have this setting (Hopefully) implemented in the future.

Just checking on status. Yes I'm connecting to the PC via the provided cable with my Elite Controller. My PC is upstairs and my Xbox is down stairs. When I turn on my controller on the PC it still turns on my xbox down stairs.

The main issue is the Xbox Accessory App won't work and I cannot configure my paddles.

I use USB to do this. It won't work anyway with Bluetooth.

How can I get the app working? I've ran through many suggestion that were on other forums.

I've rebooted

Uninstalled Reinstalled the app.

Yet it still does not work.

I'm afraid Xbox Elite remapping is exclusive to the Xbox Accessories App, which is only available on Windows 10/11 and Xbox consoles. For more information on the Xbox Accessories app please see:

Please note that most app features aren’t supported via Bluetooth connections. If you’re using the app on a Windows device, use the Xbox Wireless Adapter or a USB cable to connect and configure your accessory.

Take a look in the Xbox Accessories app (which can be found in the apps section of the "My Games & Apps" menu), which configures specific actions on your Elite controller.

There should be a setting that sets the range of sensitivity in the triggers. Give that an adjustment and see if it helps.
