Xbox Accessories App - Problems updating

Trying to use the Xbox accessories app to reconfigure the elite controller. Error message as follows:

"There was a problem with the update"

"Xbox accessories needs an update, but something went wrong."

Got a brand new xbox elite yesterday and can't use the functionality of the elite controller paddles

Went through the trouble shooting steps on the website. Power cycled the console. installed; reinstalled. Cleared alternate MAC address. Cleared persistent storage. Unplugged all peripherals and reinstalled. Please help!

I am having the same issue! Got my Elite bungle today, installed the Xbox Accessories app, told me it needs an update, then has a problem updating. Hoping for a fast fix!

 

Same issue, just got off a chat with support, they said there are lots of reports of people with the same issue but they're still looking into a fix for the app

 

Same here, downloaded the app and it was working fine... it said the app needs an update and now I can't use it.

 

I worked around this issue by going to settings/system/clear local saved games. The app is currently working just fine for me once again.

 

Thanks Darth, worked for me. I had uninstalled the app last night, so I cleared local (and the xbox rebooted), reinstalled, and it started right up.
