    Hi,

    for a few days now, I can't open the Xbox Accessories app that I use to configure my gamepad.

    The error message displayed is, of course, nonsense. (Error Message says something like Update your Windows) All updates are done and the Windows version is also an Insider Preview release.

    I'm a bit desperate. In my desperation, I have now installed an additional Windows in a virtual machine just to start this stupid app to configure my controller...

    If someone knows any advice, please let me know. I would be very grateful.

    PS: I have, of course, also deleted and reinstalled the app. The Xbox app is also up to date!

    seit ein paar Tagen kann ich die Xbox Zubehör App, mit der ich mein Gamepad konfiguriere nicht mehr öffnen.
    Die Fehlermeldung, die angezeigt wird, ist selbstverständlich Unfug. Alle Updates sind durch und Windows Version ist auch eine Insider Preview Ausgabe.
    Bin ein bisschen verzweifelt. In meiner Not hab ich jetzt ein Windows zusätzlich in einer virtuellen Maschine installiert, nur um diese blöde App zu starten um meinen Controller zu konfigurieren ...

    How to know if Im having a official xbox series x/s controller

    I do use the Bluetooth to connect my controller, no wireless adaptor.

    I actually saw that Xbox accessories app (it's not installed) but I'm afraid to use it because I saw someone bricked their controller using it and they had to make a ticket for replacement for a controller. Also the accessories app doesn't have a good rating in the store.

    Anymore suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Ok, my guess would be that it's not the controller that is an issue. Likely not the USB cable either. If it's showing up no problem on another computer, then I'd say we take a look at the Xbox Accessories app, the driver, or other Xbox Live Services.

    Let's start with the Xbox Accessories app. Can you go to Settings > Apps > find "Xbox Accessories" in the list on the default tab, select it and it click "Advanced Options". From there scroll down a bit and hit "Reset". This will reset the Xbox Accessories
    app, and making sure everything is good, checking against the signature from the Windows 10 store.

    This should rule out if it's an issue with the app itself. If it doesn't solve the problem, we'll take a look at the other services for next steps.
