Xbox accessories app crashing

Hello, i have done numerous searches trying to find an answer. The xbox accessories app to update and configure my Elite Series 2 controller keeps crashing. I have tried quitting the app, but it doesn’t give me the option... you cannot even uninstall
it. I have tried restarting the xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds and waiting 30 seconds before turning back on... nothing seems to work. Please help

The app doesn’t let me get that far. I have tried opening it with both a normal controller and the elite. Also, i don’t have a Windows PC i can test it on

Does it only crash when you're trying to update the Elite controller? Are you able to check if the controller has a firmware update, first? Or does the app not let you even get that far?

Another thing I might try is if you have a Windows 10 PC, see if you have the same result on Windows 10 with the Xbox Accessories app.

That means there is an issue with the drivers or the updates installed on your PC. To resolve your concern, we suggest that you manually uninstall the drivers from the Device manager and update it again. Here's how:

Open the Device Manager.

Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device.

Select Uninstall.

Unplug the USB cable for the controller and restart your PC.

Somehow, shortly after the error and replying, the windows prompted that it is ready for the update and it successfully updated to version 1809(Os Build 17763.292), however, after following the instructions once again, the problem didn't disappear.
