Xbox Accessories App - Cannot Create Profiles

    Xbox Accessories App - Cannot Create Profiles


    I just got an Xbox Elite controller for the first time. I plugged the controller into my PC via micro USB and installed the Xbox Accessories App.

    Somehow, in the process of trying to create a new controller profile, the default profile was deleted and now it is completely impossible for me to create a new profile. When I was trying to create a new profile, the app simply would not let me do it. Now
    that the only customizable profile that I had is completely gone, this controller can no longer be configured.

    I really need help with this. I have looked everywhere and have not found any solutions. If I cannot find a solution, I will probably have to return the controller, as it is basically just a glorified, $150 Xbox One controller at this point in time for me.

    more info according joysticks and buttons for the adaptive controller can be found here Xbox Adaptive Controller | Xbox

    For programming the device you have to use the Xbox accessories app.

    You can find it on your console or in the
    xbox store

    in the app you can

    • Assign up to 3 profiles to the controller

    • Create and save up to 256 profiles in the app

    • Remap all input ports

    • Configure thumbstick sensitivity curves

    • Change thumbstick calculation

    • Configure Xbox button brightness

    • Rename your controller

    • Swap thumbstick X and Y axes

    • Assign Shift button, and configure Shift inputs

    I think I found a solution. I guess I had to fully login to my Xbox Live account to gain full functionality of the app. I would delete this post, but I cannot, as it will not allow me to.

    Download and Install Xbox Accessories App from the Micrsoft Store

    Xbox Accessories - Microsoft Store Apps

    Connect to controller to PC

    Open The Xbox Accessories App

    Click Sync

    Configure

    You may be asked to sign in or create an account

    Create a new profile

    Then Save

    You can add a Profile

    Remap buttons as well

    Xbox one accessories app won’t create profile

    All in origianl post. Xbox one elite, brand new. Installed app for the first time yesterday. Failed, uninstalled, cleaned orphaned files, folder and registry entries left behind. Re downloaded amd installed again, failed again. Repeated process for 3rd time
    still fails. Everything is functional but profiles.

    There is no advanced option to repair, only reset whcih has already been done.

    Can you make sure your App is updated?

    It may be worth going to Start > Settings > Apps > Xbox Accessories App > Advanced > Repair
