XBOX 4K to receiver

Hi,

Just purchased the ONE X on Thursday. Here's my issue. If I plug my Xbox directly into my TV (4K HDR Vizio 75M 2017 model) I get 4k HDR and all boxes checked but now I only get tv speaker stereo.

If I plug it into my receiver (pioneer sc-71 2014) to get 7.1 surround with Martin Logan speakers, the Xbox can't detect my TV being 4k HDR and goes to 1080p. I get that error about how TV may have some 4k. While my receiver saids it has 4k pass through
I dont think it has HDCP 2.2

My current fix is to plug directly into TV and plug the optical into my receiver. It's OK, but I'm only getting 5.1 and reduced audio quality when compared to HDMI sound.

Can I use a HDMI splitter? HDMI coming out of xbox (splitter) then with one HDMI going to the TV and the other HDMI cable going to the receiver.

Will it work without audio and video quality loss? Will Xbox be able to detect my TV?

Or is there a better fix?

Xbox One X 4K pass thru?

When you say 4K pass through, are you talking about a 4K source sending the TV signal to the Xbox and then to the TV? Or sending the Xbox1 X 4K signal to pass through a 4K receiver and then to the 4K TV?

 

4K Passthrough?

Will the XBOX One X support a 4k HDMI passthrough for receivers like the Dishnetwork 4K Hooper so that you can watch 4k content on the tv.

4K and HDR on Xbox One X and Xbox One S. The splitter idea could possibly work but it depends on the adapter and its compatibility to your receiver.

Make sure it is not your TV or cable that's not working

 

It might be possible to go via the TV then to the amp if your amp and TV support ARC.

 

Unfortunately there is only one TV HDMI input that support the 600MHz pixel clock rate and HDMI v2.0 which is the same port that has ARC. All the other HDMI inputs are 340 MHz and HMDI v1.4 and no ARC

 

The link didn't help, doesn't address the receiver issue. If I have to get a new receiver that supports HDCP 2.2 I'll look into that. It's about $1100 minimum for a decent receiver and was trying to avoid that.

Is the XBOX one able to see a 4K HDR TV while passing through a new receiver that is 4k HDCP 2.2 compliant? Or is this an issue with any receiver?

Or put another way: Can the Xbox One X hand shake a 4K HDR TV going through a receiver? If so what am I looking for in a new receiver to allow that? Or will the receiver that's 4K HDCP
2.2 compliant actually hand shake the XBOX allowing 4K output?

I get this error when going through receiver: 4K is supported by your TV, but not at 60Hz. You won't be able to upscale to 4K, but, depending on your TV, you may still be able to play some 4K and HDR
content. To see what your TV supports, choose 4K TV details. Then xbox only out puts in 1080p
