Xbox 369 slim 250 gig

My xbox 360 keeps turning off by itself it's out in the open and when it turns off the power button flashes about five times. I will let it sit for about 5 minutes and it will turn back on after about 15 minutes it will shut off again please help what
can I do to stop this it is beginning to get real frustrating.

xbox freezes

just get on line and xbox freezes emptied cache and updated. this is a xbox 360 slim 4 gig with 250 gig hard drive fitted

the new 360 known as the slim comes with either, 4 gig of internal memory or a 250 gig hard drive it will say on the box 4 or 250. if you get the 250 you get a hard drive, but if you get the 4 model you can ADD a hard drive to it either a 250 gig or a 320
gig but only the version of the hard drive made for the current slim models, the older clip on drive on the older fat 360s are not compatible with the slim models.

 

How old is the console? What color is the light on the power brick when the console shuts down?

It's possible that the console itself or the power brick is overheating and causing the console to shut down like this. If this is the case it may be in need of a repair/replacement.
