xbox 360s unable to update. error codes sometimes.

So turned on the xbox and it says it needs an update. Been trying many times now and get different error codes and sometimes no error codes. Last one I had was 42FE-0000-3000-0902-8007-045D.

I have the 4gb internal, and I had a 16gb usb connected. We noticed all of our profiles were gone and we could not connect to live. every reboot prompted to update, but the update never took with an error no storage. I looked and our internal 4GB was
showing as unformatted. I shutdown and unplugged for a bit and then plugged in and started up. The internal shows up again and says it has 1GB of free space (out of 3GB), but I am unable to write to it at all (making a new profile or moving a profile to
it). nor move anything off of it (everything shows 0kb) and if I say format, it appears to format, but nothing changes with it. Now my usb should have enough space (4gb free) for a system update, but it wont update no matter how I try (over wireless, usb,
dvd) I think my internal is shot, and the update requires an internal device for the update? So we might be out of luck unless we buy an internal HD?

The other odd thing is that I can get to the update screen, the update runs in like 1 second (green update bar goes all the way across) and the system reboots, just to say an update is needed all over again.

Hi guys I bought a xbox one for my son yesterday brand new from game and I have set up everything but when I put forza 5 on it keeps showing (sorry we are unable to play this disc) with error code (0x80820002)
I have done all the updates for the console and even unplugged the xbox and tried again but keeps showing me the same message
Any help would be grateful

Quick question, well two really. What was the error code? Did you ask google what the error code meant?

Also, if the xbox is having status issues that can cause stupid error codes to drop. Usually though once you google the code you'll know what the issue is, and if the issue isn't related to the internet, i'd still hit up status page for xbox just to make sure.

Which i'll do before i hit post. Xbox Live Service Status | Xbox Live Service Outage seems everything is normal right now, so hit us up with the error code, i'd try again though.

 

How old is this system? If its under warranty send it in and if its less than a month old most retailers take them back. Might just be your HD. And you did format it right?

I'm afraid problems with the 4GB internal memory showing up as "unformatted" usually require a console repair. Even though it's no longer displaying "unformatted," the fact that you can't read from or write to it or format it properly most likely means there's
a problem with the internal memory.

The system is 1 year old (Christmas 2013) and hardly gets used. I guess does anyone know if I get the hard drive for it, it would start working again, or this internal storage has to be fixed to clear the error?

 

appears I am just still in the warranty period, so I am sending it in!

 

why wont the latest update fit on a 16gb usb?
