Xbox 360s to laptop help needed.

Ok guys I am in a serious pickle here! Is it possible to take a external HDD and transfer content from my xbox 360s to my laptop for storing as I reformat my xbox's HDD? Since xbox's only use up to 32gb of memory I would have to do this multiple times and
I am wondering if my laptop with save all the data or if it won't be recognized and be lost in cyberspace...

In theory I think this would work but before I do anything drastic I wanted some of your ideas about my situation.

windows 8 wont let me "play to" my xbox.

im up that creek and i have no paddle. im trying to get my windows8 laptop and my xbox 360s to get along...my laptop wont recognize my xbox i have the smart glass active and can controll the xbox from my laptop screen.... but for the life of me i cant watch
a simple video through my xbox.... and it wont find my pc or anyhting.... CAN ANYONE HELP????

Xbox data is never meant to be read by a PC. Transferring files to your pc will probably corrupt them an make them unusable on your xbox. So no you can't do this.
