    Xbox 360S switching off for no reason.


    Hi

    I got my Xbox360 Slim since June 2011, I have it 6 years already.

    Three days ago I was playing Destiny, suddenly my Xbox switches off.

    There was only that sound that it makes when you switch the device off.

    Yesterday I played another game, there was no problem at all I played 4 hours non-stop.

    Today I played Destiny again and after 5 min, the console turned off again, I had to start the Xbox 5-6 times before I could play normally.

    I don't know what the problem is, could it just be dead or used or is there much dust in the device or on the cooling fan ?

    My new xbox one s keeps switching off

    my new Xbox one S randomly powers down for no reason. The power strip is brand new. I also tried switching off the auto power off setting and no luck. No overheating

    Xbox 360S Power Supply Overheating

    So my Xbox 360S keeps switching itself off because the power brick keeps overheating. I have tried all of the suggested fixes on the support site and still no joy. However i have checked with another power supply and it works fine....therefore it is more
    than likely the power supply that is failing.

    I have filled in a repair request online, but it seems like i have to send away the whole Xbox 360S unit....is this correct or will i just need to send off the faulty power supply brick for MS to repair or replace?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Which model Xbox did you get, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S? The reason I ask is that the original Xbox can no longer play online, as the Xbox servers were switched off for that model back in 2010.

    You're better off just using the Xbox 360 VGA cable and a VGA switch box. Yes most switch boxes luck ugly, but they work. The switch box will allow you to connect your PC and 360 to the same screen, to swap, simply flick the switch.

    There might be a few reasons why you are receiving this message.

    Usually doing a hard reset/power cycle fixes most of the reasons.

    Press and hold the xbox logo on the front of the console until it switches off, waiting atleast 30 seconds before switching it on again.

    @Lofty, yes, until i had pulled the mains lead, pressing and holding the controllers xbox button only switched off the the pad itself not the X1, pressing the xbox button on the X1 did switch off the console, im just a little concerened that this happened,
    and wondering if the console is on the way out, or is there another reason for this ?
