Xbox 360S or Xbox One S?

Straight off the bat, this seems like a stupid question... but I have some friends saying that there is some benefit to the 360S that isn't there in the One S I primarily play the Forza series, and nothing else.

What should I get?

Grey tiles and other very weird problems with MOST of the Xbox Live -related things.

We have two Xbox 360s and Xbox One hooked up and this is the only Xbox showing this problem or any problem.

Yes it is possible. What you can't do here is use the Xbox Live Profile to two Xbox One consoles or two Xbox 360s.

 

Well, they're 2 different systems essentially. The One would be better because it's newer so you would able to play the newest Forza games on it and better graphics. There are backwards compatible 360 games though too so you can play games from both consoles
as well. The One S also has a 4k blu ray player.

 

Thanks. I'm told the One S also runs Windows 10. What does that mean in terms of what you can do eg. Netflix, Youtube, etc.?

 

You can use Netflix and all that on either console. You can stream the One on the Windows 10 and there are some games that are Play Anywhere titles that can be played on both the One and Windows 10 as long you purchase them digitally without having to buy
them twice.

 

So , technically, all Xbox One console versions, the original Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X run the same core, which it shares with Windows 10

When it comes to what you should get, it's more a question of cost and what you have available. If you have a 4k TV, then Forza will be Xbox One X enhanced, meaning that it might look/run better on the X, but will still be compatible and run on the S.
Without a 4k TV, the benefit of the X might be as big of a factor to you. I'd take a look at what bundles are available from retailers and the Microsoft Store that might include a game you want, like Forza, and decide what's best for your wallet.

As for the apps, they are all compatible across all the consoles as well, so apps like Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, etc apps would work.
