    Xbox 360's IE app & POODLE vulnerability


    Hi all, been doing a year-end security updates. When researching the POODLE vulnerability, I found that IE on computers running should be reconfigured as described in this link: Disable SSLv3

    Internet Explorer
    To disable SSLv3 in Internet Explorer:

    1. Open Internet Options from the Start menu
    2. Click the Advanced tab
    3. Uncheck Use SSL 3.0
    4. Confirm by clicking OK

    What do we need to do for Xbox 360's IE app?

    The 360 is not run on a standard Windows platform, so it's not vulnerable to the same security holes as a regular computer. So there really is nothing that needs to be changed. If Microsoft deems it necessary to supply a fix, then they will.

    The 360 is not run on a standard Windows platform, so it's not vulnerable to the same security holes as a regular computer. So there really is nothing that needs to be changed. If Microsoft deems it necessary to supply a fix, then they will.

    No. IE on your Xbox 360 is nothing like IE on your PC. The Xbox 360 operating system is sealed pretty tight. The IE on your console also has no security vulnerable plugins such as Flash or Java, for this reason as well.
