Xbox 360s cd stopped reading games, but will read audio cds

I have a used xbox 360s that has always had some issues with reading some games, but just recently (all in one day) the games that were working on it stopped working. I hadn't done anything to it until then. I thought maybe it needed an update, but xbox
live didn't say I needed an update for my system. I downloaded the usb update, and burned it onto a cd and tried to restart my xbox and it doesn't even act like it is trying to update. The drive will still read audio cds with no problem. I need help, please!!!!

sometimes the dvd laser just dies. there's nothing that you can really do other than trying to find someone who can repair it (Microsoft no longer services 360s) or purchase another.

Before going to the expense of having the laser replaced try giving the laser lens a clean first. There are some excellent cleaning discs available that are designed for games consoles.

It only takes a spec of dust or dirt on the laser lens to prevent the laser reading discs at all.

no, as the xbox will only read game discs, move discs and cd audio discs.

DTS audio CD's are not easily read by most players. I keep an old DVD player around just for some of my DTS cds.

you should burn it as an "Audio Cd" type. If you got the correct burned format it should be read by old Cd walkmans. Total audio time should be around 75 minutes and maybe around 10 songs in total if you burn it using "Audio Cd" format.

Xbox can read mp3 burned format but wont be able to rip it. I forgot what the exact type but i used to burn my MP3s into audio format since MP3 players were non existent back then.
