Xbox 360 wont work with hard drive please HELP

My xbox was working fine then i got a random update and i did it without thinking twice. Now my xbox just freeze after four seconds of being on then i have to shut it off and it does the same then again. I took off the hard drive and the xbox works fine
will play music and games with no problem but once the hard drive is back on that when all the problems start. I dont no what the problem is because i put the same hard drive on my friends xbox 360 and it works fine with out problems. Its any hard drive that
connect just wont work usb or the xbox hard drive if anyone can help with this please let me no what to do

how to - 360 hard drive to kinect , is there a dock or anything i can buy

i use xbox to play xbox games on my 360 but i have a kinect now and when i try to play my origional xbox games it says "please connect an origional xbox 360 hard drive to your console " but an origional xbox hard drive wont attatch to my console or does
it ? please help

 

It does sound like a hard drive issue. Which console are you using? Slim or FAT? What size hard drive and is it an official Xbox drive?

 

Yes its an xbox hard drive fat xbox 360 as well i was hoping with the new xbox update today it will work. I used my usb hard drive to test it out but got a status code 416B - 4174 - 1680 - 0500 - C000 -0032. So the update would not even take on the xbox
360 and i did not want to use my xbox hard drive on this xbox. Its been working fine on my friends xbox and took the new update without a problem im just lost. Why does the same hard drives i had on my xbox will work perfectly fine on other xbox 360 but gives
me tons of problems on mine?

 

Ok update i used a regular xbox 360 hard drive to see if today update would take and it was a no go go the same code. This really sucks i only had this xbox for 6 months and having problems with it and xbox wont help me. Unless i give them 100 buck this
really just makes me mad gamestop wont even take it back.
