Xbox 360 won't update

I have an Xbox 360 slim 4gb that won't update. (yes, I know that 360s are old, but I still want to use it (I have an Xbox One, but it can't play many Xbox 360 games))

What I have tried:

- I tried installing it via Xbox Live again

- I tried installing it from a usb drive

- I tried installing it from a game disc

- I tried installing it from a cd/dvd

- Removing the most recent update by clicking buttons in the storage menu (I forgot the exact combo, but I remember that it worked)

- Tried to clear the cache

- Tried to format the memory unit (for some reason, the memory unit displayed the same amount of storage as if I never formatted it)

Also, this info might help:

I've contacted a support member, and he said to install an external hard drive (from the slot in the side). This worked with the kinect update (the current update at the time), but when I tried to install the November 2019 update, it gave an error message.
(If you need the status/error code, please ask)

Because of this, I think that the 4gb internal memory unit is corrupted (but why won't the update install to the hard drive?).

I searched on other forums, and it seems that the internal memory unit can be removed on certain models (I have no problem opening it up, as the warranty is probably expired anyway). Also, this particular console has NOT been tampered or opened before (I
haven't used JTAG, RGH, etc.).

Any help would be appreciated, and I understand if it absolutely cannot be fixed. Thanks.

Nope, but I'd prefer not to as all it says is to go to xbox.com... I'll try soon I guess, however I find this somewhat easier..

Hi, the last eight digits of that error code are the important ones, if you provide those it would be a huge help.

In the meantime, if you can skip the update then please do, from the xbox dashboard go to settings/ system settings/ storage.

Highlight your storage device and press the following buttons in sequence on the controller

LB RB X LB RB X

select yes on the next screen, the Xbox will reboot, try the update again at that point.

Try powering it down and unplugging it for 4 to 5 minutes then plug it back in and try it again.
