Xbox 360 won't stay connected to Xbox Live

I've been having connection problems that have gotten worse since early December 2014. When streaming video or playing games, the system disconnects from Xbox Live at seemingly random times. Sometimes I can log right back in again, sometimes not.

It may or may not be related, but the console is often not connected to Live when I first turn it on. I'd say 1/4 of the time it does not automatically connect. If I unplug my modem and router and then reconnect, it usually works.

I have internet through Comcast, and it doesn't seem to matter if I go wired or wireless. I've tried using my iphone as a personal hotspot, and so far that has worked perfectly. We have a few laptops, two ipads, and two iphones that use the same router,
and we've had minimal connection problems with those.

Another thing that may or may not be related: I've been having problems downloading full games. I can download XBLA games or DLC, but if I try to download a full game (through Games with Gold or through a purchase) the download won't finish. It will usually
get to around 14% and then say it can't download. I've brought the console to a friend's place, and was able to download full games with no problem.

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal adapter? Internal with the Xbox 360 E, though I sometimes use an ethernet cable.

Things you have tried: Running system tests, clearing the cache and deleting/re-downloading profiles, sequential power cycle.

Is UPnP Enabled? Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT? No

Any Error Codes you encounter: No specific codes - just that I've been disconnected from XBOX Live.

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Comcast

Todays Xbox Update

Mine won't stay connected to xbox live at all

 

My XBox 360 won't stay connected to XBox Live.

I have checked my network setting, I have deleted my profile (profile only) and my cache (3 times) and I still can't play Call of Duty live.

Any help would be awesome.

I have comcast to - the thing i did was log into my router and restore it to factory defaults, so far this has been the only thing that has worked for me - but whatever disconnects i was getting seem to have to jumped to the kid's wii console - cause now
that connection drops just like the 360 was doing. idk - this seems to be a comcast and xbox problem.

 

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but unfortunately I couldn't get the drivers from the router when trying to set it up again, and they weren't available online (it was an old router). So I bought a new router and everything seems to be good. Fingers
crossed.

I also have to say I'm disappointed with Microsoft support on this one. I didn't even get an acknowledgment of the problem - I would have liked to explore the options before spending money on a new router.
