Xbox 360 Won't Recognize Flash Drive

Discus and support Xbox 360 Won't Recognize Flash Drive in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So i bought a new flash drive so i could play Grand Theft auto 5, a San Disk 16GB.     Xbox 360 Won't Recognize Flash Drive


    So i bought a new flash drive so i could play Grand Theft auto 5, a San Disk 16GB. I plugged it in and configured the settings and it was working fine until as i was downloading GTA 5, the game said there was an error that occurred so i just re-plugged my
    USB in and restarted my Xbox now it won't recognize the Flash Drive in the storage section.

    I need help loading system files to my Xbox360 with no hard drive..

    i have a Xbox 360 without a hard drive... It won't recognize my flash drives except for storage... It won't load the system files needed to use internet explorer.. or Netflix.. the message that appears reads to download the app again ... This is as far as
    I can go ... When I download the app again it appears to download to the flash drive but when I click on the app. The same message appears (download the app again) how do I get the Xbox360 to recognize the flash drive and load system files.. ??????

    Game Drive - you need to attach an xbox 360 hard drive

    Do you have any other usb storage devices plugged into your console? Because the Xbox 360 will only recognize 2 at a time. So let’s say you have two flash drives plugged in already, it wouldn’t recognize the hard drive without removing one of the flash drives
    first.

    Hi, it's not advisable to disconnect usb devices with the Xbox or indeed any device the flash drive is connected to powered on as it can cause exactly the problem you're having. Have you tried formatting the flash drive on your pc and then configure it as
    xbox storage again on the Xbox.

    You may find that your pc may not even be able to read the flash drive in which case I'm sorry to say the flash drive is pretty much useless due to it being corrupted.

    unless its specifically for the xbox one, like a terrabite, then it won't recognize it unless its just videos, music, or pictures, i tried the same thing with normal flash drives cause it worked on xbox 360 and ps3, but their not compatible with xbox one.

    No. Since the game is not backwards compatible it's seen as a different game so it won't see your saves from the 360. Also, the only way to transfer saves from a 360 is through the cloud so in a backwards compatible game it wouldn't recognize saves from
    a flash drive.

    There was an issue a while ago with some flash drives not being recognized properly when left in the console during a cold boot.



    Sounds like the flash drive is marginal, at least with respect to the 360.

    The Xbox 360 can only recognize drives up to 2tb in storage, so if you have one with higher storage, it won't recognize it.
