xbox 360 won't read the destiny game disc anymore

I tried clearing the cache removing the harddrive deleting it from my harddrive and there is no reason to clean the disc since its new. I have also tried 5 other games and they all work. what I see on my screen is the green box with the disc that says play
game instead of the destiny image and I get the unreadable error when I press a to play. my xbox still knows its destiny because when I press x for game details it goes to the page where I can buy the digital copy and the dlc. the game did work I have been
playing it for a week but this happened once yesterday and now today it doesn't work at all.

L4D2 disc does not work on Xbox one

Sounds like a hardware fault with the disc drive since it won't read a DVD or Xbox 360 game.

game not reading anymore

i have2 mw3 disc both are not reading anymore one of the disc is new all my other games work and also installed the game to my hd without a problem yet still doesnt read disc . is there a hack that can stop the 360 to read disc

If your xbox can still read the disk then try and install the disk to your hardrive. This will allow the game to be able to be played and rarely will say "Disk is unreadable". Also try and clean the disk if you haven't already done so.

I'm having the same problem. Got brand new disc for christmas, it worked fine for one night then stopped working and tells me to clean the disc. Any solutions yet?

My son got the destiny game and it won't read it. All other games work and destiny even works on 2 other 360 consoles. Do I return the disc to the store for a new one? I don't understand why it just won't work on his. I about ready to throw the console out
the window!!

If the disc is unreadable press x on the game. download it and load it up. all you need is space.

Hey I have this issue randomly. But have found that if you go to you system settings go to storage and press y on any drive and choose clear cache 5 times in a row destiny will work. That's the only work around that I've found after 4 different discs l.

If only Destiny is not working, it MIGHT be, that (un-)intentionally Activision removed the ability to unlock the Xbox One Destiny with the Xbox 360 disc.

They offered owners of the original Xbox 360 Destiny the option to upgrade to the Xbox One Destiny during a transition period.

Maybe they removed that option to prevent people from using "used" discs to unlock the game, or since Bungie is not affiliated with Activision anymore, Activision doesn't have the right to "unlock" disc versions anymore, or whatever.

So DO NOT buy another disc, as the Xbox One ONLY reads the security sector of a Xbox 360 disc, and depending on the security signature of the disc, "unlocks" the game as a digital download.

You will always have the same version downloaded on the Xbox One. So don't waste your money buying new discs. They won't change anything.

If you're intending to buy the game, simply buy the digital download version instead.

It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

That's just it! They won't show up in my ready to install anymore. I haven't used discs since 360 either. I read somewhere that going to the store page to install was a solution if it wasn't in owned games.

Here are a few troubleshooters you may want to look through. the most common reason and Xbox 360 won't read a disc is if the optical lens inside the disc tray area that actually reads the discs is dirty. But these should help any ways.

The best way to get that fixed if that is the issue, would be to either clean the disc itself with a soft cloth to make it easier to read or to take the console to a local electronics hobby store like a GameStop to get it cleaned up. Microsoft doesn't do
servicing for Xbox 360's anymore and its really advised to not try and repair/clean up a console yourself.
