XBOX 360: Won't read my disc

    XBOX 360: Won't read my disc


    When I put a game in my XBOX 360 it knows that there is a disc, but when I click on the game it just signs me out of XBOX Live and goes to the home page and signs me back into Live. Then, with some discs, it thinks that it is a DVD. I know it is not the
    discs because it still does this with brand new discs. Please help, I loved playing my XBOX 360,

    Gta 5 game

    My Xbox 360 won't read any gta 5 discs iI even tried using my freinds disc and it still won't read it. Anyone know whats wrong this only happens with gta all my other games work fine

    Hey there USARocks!

    Sorry you're having trouble. When you get a chance, please run through all the steps over on this
    Disc Drive Troubleshooter. Unfortunately if those steps are still not helping your issue, you'll need to set up a repair for your Xbox One.

    I have tried most of these solutions and I'm still having the same problem. Occassionally I'll get a screen to install the disc in an xbox 360 console. I'm not sure what's going on with that screen. My xbox does play the original xbox games so I find
    this to be really weird.

    Hi,

    It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

    The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

    Hi,

    Do other BC Xbox 360 game discs work on your Xbox One? For the Xbox One to recognise the game and download it from Live it must:

    • Be able to read the disc. Check if the disc is dirty or damaged
    • Have a working Optical drive capable of reading Xbox 360 discs. Try other BC discs or test a DVD movie.

    The Xbox One has two diodes for reading discs in the optical Blu-ray Drive. A red laser is used to read Xbox 360 and DVD movies and a blue laser to read Xbox One games and Blu-ray movies. If the diode for reading DVD's is faulty, BC Xbox 360 discs won't
    work.

    L4D2 disc does not work on Xbox one

    Sounds like a hardware fault with the disc drive since it won't read a DVD or Xbox 360 game.
