    Xbox 360 won't launch applications or games. result black screen.


    I tried to launch games off the disc and hard drive, and applications such as netflix. all actions lead to the same response, a black screen.

    i can bring up the mini menu by pressing the center button on my controller but can not return to the main menu using the y button or xbox freezes.

    xbox can be turned off from mini menu while in black screen state.

    XBLA connection breaks all games and apps

    Just figured you might want to know this Microsoft: but as of today no application or game will work on my 360 so long as it is connected to Xbox live. The result of any attempt to start a game or app on my console is a permanent black screen, and any
    attempt to return to the dashboard results in a freeze and requires hard reset of the console. Removing the internet connection so that the console cannot reach xbox live renders everything playable again.

    That's kind of an issue.
