    Xbox 360 won't connect to TV


    I bought a used Xbox 360 from Amazon and it was working on my TV just fine. The screen went blank one day and now when I turn the Xbox on, the TV keeps saying "no signal." I switched between component and HDMI, nothing. I got a new component chord, nothing.
    The Xbox works, the TV works, they just aren't connecting. What's going on?

    stopped working probably about Sept last year coz i got the Kinect in July and it was working for a while on the tele then one day just didn't show a picture when i switched cables. it's a pretty old console now tbh so i'm just going to keep using the leads
    until the day that it eventually dies on me and i have to replace it

    Ok, since there is only a HDMI output on the xbox 360 E console, you might want to consider trying to find the Slim console, since that will allow you to use the 'Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable' cable (support.xbox.com/.../connect-xbox-360-console-tv)
    to connect the xbox 360 slim console to your monitor.

    But you won't have any sound untill you have something that can output sound. Via either the red/white cables or the optical out on the console.

    What are you trying to record? If you have it on the TV mode but say have your xbox 360 connected to it. It won't allow you to record anything because it thinks you are trying to record TV shows. Hope this helps! :D

    Well, found this too: If you're using an HDMI connection between the Xbox 360 and the TV, it might be that. When using HDMI, the Xbox won't boot up until it knows what the TV is capable of displaying. Although the controller will turn the console on, it
    won't sync with the console -- and it's not a controller or console problem, but just a symptom of the fact that the Xbox won't get to the point where controllers will sync until it can properly communicate with the TV. I'd recommend turning off the TV and
    the Xbox, disconnecting the HDMI cable and re-connecting it after making sure the contacts are clean. Then turn the Xbox back on first; you'll likely to see the same behavior. Finally, turn the TV back on. With it being switched back into HDMI mode, it just
    might "kick-start" the Xbox into a good communication link across HDMI.
