Xbox 360 Wireless wont connect

I've looked everywhere for days and have not found anyway of adding the controller to the PC. I have Windows 7 64bit and I'm trying to connect a wireless 360 controller to the PC through a wireless gaming receiver so I can play GTA5. (Hate PC controls) I've
gotten to the point where the controller's lights circle the X icon on the controller, after that, it just blinks and doesn't work. I've looked through my computer and it says the driver is installed. So, I go through my devices on my PC and the things they
said to look for would be Gaming Controllers, Human interface device, Unidentified Device in Human interface and the list goes on.. I don't want buy a wired one or xbox one controller. It's getting a bit frustrating.

Xbox wont connect at all wirelessly.

My xbox one wont connect to any wireless network. I've tried at least 5 different wireless networks and it wont connect. I think my xbox won't connect wirelessly. Anyone else have this problem?

Do you have the adapter piece? When I purchased my Xbox Controller "For Windows" it came with a USB receiver that I've had to use even when plugged in with a Play and Charge kit.

 

You mean the receiver that plugs into the USB port?

 

Yes; some people have tried to just connect the controller to the PC without getting the adapter, so I try to ask when people have issues getting their controller to work.

 

That's odd. It never hurts to check to make sure that the drivers that you have are the most current. Here's the link from the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com/.../xbox-360-controller-for-windows)
