Xbox 360 wireless controller blinks twice and do not connect

Thanks for your post! I understand that your controller is only flashing twice and not connecting to your console. Are you on an Xbox 360 or a PC? Have you recently changed the batteries on your controller or are you using a wired controller? If you're on
the Xbox 360, you can turn the console off by holding the power button for 10 seconds, once it's off you can unplug the Xbox 360 for 30 seconds and then plug it back in and power it on. Once the console is back on, try to connect your controller again.

What you are seeing with the LEDs is an indication that the Xbox 360 Explorer controller is entering pairing mode, not working mode. In order for the controller to function on your PC, you must first pair it with the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter.

Steps to pair the controller with the wireless adapter:

Connect the wireless adapter: Connect the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter to a USB port on your PC.

Press the pairing button on the adapter: On the wireless adapter, there is a small button (usually near the USB port). Press and hold this button for a few seconds. The LED on the adapter should start blinking.

Turn on the controller: Press the Xbox button in the center of the controller to turn it on.

Greetings, Jeansybaby! Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your wireless controller to connect up. If all four lights are currently blinking on your controller and on your console, you might already have four controllers connected to the console.

This sounds like a familiar problem I had with one of my controllers a while ago. I found that the connection with the wireless adapter was much more reliable.

I recommend you have the PC forget the bluetooth connection with the controller, and have the controller depend only on the connection with the wireless adapter. When you disconnect the controller from the PC, it's possible that it will blink as though it is not connected to anything--this is okay.

Just reconnect to the wireless adapter only, without going through the bluetooth settings on your PC, by:

1. Press and hold the connection button on your controller until the Nexus button blinks rapidly
   
2. Press and hold the wireless adapter's connection button until the indicator light on it blinks rapidly
   
3. Wait a few seconds for the controller and adapter to find each other, and for the blinking to slow down and stop, indicating a successful connection
