Xbox 360 wireless adapter overrides my wifi

Hello, I recently bought a brand new Xbox 360 wireless controller for my laptop and every time I plug the adapter it overrides my wifi connection, so I can not use it on online
mode for all my apps and games. Please, I need help, all my drivers are up to date.
I also had to get the xbox 360 accessories app from a third party site since the file was not available on microsoft's site.

Explain what you mean by it overrides your wifi connection. So without the adapter you're connected to wifi?

No the only wifi adapter that works on the xbox 360 console is the Microsoft version

What specifically would allow the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to connect while the built-in wifi would not?

My Xbox 360 S detects a wireless signal with 4 bars, and I am testing it while sitting it right next to the modem, so there is no issue with signal strength.

My Xbox 360 S's built-in wifi is able to connect to a hotspot, and it is even able to connect to my neighbor's wifi from my house.

My xbox has no recognition of any wifi even neighbours, it suggests connecting an xbox 360 wireless network adapter even though there is one inbuilt.

Only the official Microsoft Wireless adapters will work the 360. There is no native support or drivers for WiFi adapters used on PCs.
