    xbox 360 wireless adapter not working


    Okay, so I have an xbox 360 S. and it has worked great for years but starting three months ago my xbox 360 just wont connect to my network! When I plug the adapter into my xbox 360, it just stays a solid red. Also my adapter won't light up when I plug it into the three usb ports in the back. I don't know when this started or if it has always been a thing. It only lights up at all when plugged into the 2 front usb ports and it just stays red. I also do not know how to use the built in wifi for my console. It just says that wireless mode is turned off and it is greyed out. I reset my settings to factory defaults but automatic mode won't do anything either. It just says "automatic" and everything stays at zero. I also don't know how to figure out my subnet mask and gateway. Only my IP address. And by the way I do not know what kind of wireless adapter it is. I don't know if it is wireless N adapter, wireless G adapter or none. I've been at this for hours and I'm trying my absolute best but I'm not sure what to do. Someone please help me. I miss my xbox live functioning xbox.

    Hello - the only USB wireless networking adapter that will work with the Xbox 360 is the official Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter. Any other USB adapters will not work, as you can not install the drivers for them. You can use wireless adapters that
    connect via an Ethernet cord, but for best performance we really recommend the official Wireless Networking Adapter. For more information, please check out:

    Let's make sure your wireless hardware is working. Here's how:

    1.Press the Guide button on your controller.

    2.Go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

    3.Select Network Settings, and then select the name of your wireless network.

    4.If prompted, enter your wireless password (if required), and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection. If you receive a connection error, scroll to the bottom of this page and click No.

    Note If your are prompted to connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter, then the internal Wi-Fi is not working and the console needs repair. Start the repair process online

    External wireless adapter

    1.Attach your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of your console. Learn how
