xbox 360 wired controller not working on windows 10

Hey guys,

Basically I am using windows 10 and I have a wired xbox 360 controller but for some reason the right analogue stick acts like I am pressing X,A,Y,B etc.

I checked the properties of the controller and it returns the right analogue stick values as 1,2,3,4 (X,A,Y,B) instead of Z Axis and Z Rotation. From what I have read this may be due to the controller being set in the wrong mode but I've pressed everything
and nothing seems to change its mode.

One thing to note is that for some reason the controller is not lit up but I can play games with it (only using the left stick) and can see its inputs in the properties of the controller.

Also the drivers are up to date.

Any help/ideas? Or anyone having a similar issue?

xbox 360 controller is "working properly" but fails to sync

i have a xbox 360 controller and i want to use it for my xbox one. i have read that it is possible while using the xbox app on windows 10. Set Up an Xbox 360 Controller for Windows | Xbox Live .
the sentence in the blue says that i can use the xbox app on windows 10 to check it if the controller is working. so my question is can it work on your xbox one the xbox 360 controller while using the xbox app on windows 10?

Sorry for not helping, but my wired Xbox 360 controller has been acting "wonky", disconnecting and reconnect frequently and it stopped working in my games a few months after installing Windows 10.

Specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM)

i3-4130 CPU @

3.40GHZ

8.00 GB of RAM

64-bit OS, x64-based processor.

Got the same problem as you, PainfulCarpet. So annoying

 

same issue, i also tried a dualshock 4 controller and same problem. it will disconnect if i move the controller a certain way.

Can anyone confirm if the xbox ONE controller has the same problem?

 

Same, just got an elite xbox one controller- it and a 2nd controller are just connecting and disconnecting. Even tried a 2nd cable.

What does it mean?

 

weird, my 360 controller doesn't work in my 360 console anymore, ive only had it for like 2 years. I bought a ONE controller and i works fine in my PC. Kinda *** i had to do that.
