    Hey guys, I'm doing a project which includes editing videos for NCAA 14. Which means, i had to purchase a 360 and NCAA 14.

    The problem is, Im plugging in the Xbox 360 WIRED controller in the following ports listed below and NOTHING is working.

    Player 1, Player 2, 2 inputs in the back of the Xbox 360 E.

    But strangely, when i plug in the Xbox 360 WIRED controller into any of those inputs, i can turn the Xbox 360 E console ON. But that's all it does.

    Btw, the Xbox 360 WIRED controller works with my PC just fine. I just bought the controller today and works fine with the PC and can power the Xbox 360 Console E on.

    Was it the official Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller? For the Xbox 360 wireless controller, an adapter is required. For Xbox One, the original Xbox One controller will only work when wired. For the One S controller, you can connect it via bluetooth.

    I want to use my wired xbox controller to play some older games on my phone. I have micro usb adapter for it but I can not get the controller to work with my phone. I have checked that the adapter is working with other usbs and I can't seem to figure out
    why my controller will not even turn on. I can only find help regarding the 360 on the internet, can any body help me?

    To add, I contact support via phone, the the line keeps disconnecting when it asks for my Xbox 360 serial number. I've tried 27 times, no exaggeration.

    I tried to to contact support via chat, and it keeps saying no ambassador is available to speak with me. Feel like im going through a hassle for nothing.

    I own a Xbox One S, I have no problems with that.

    Hi,

    The simple answer is because a 360 wireless controller can't be turned into a wired controller. The wire can only charge, it can't send data. Only the Xbox One pad allows both wired and wireless.

    For the 360 controller you'll need the Xbox 360 gaming receiver.

    The USB play and charge kit for xbox 360 does NOT make it a wired controller
    - only transfers power, not data. You will see it as a device but there's no driver or any software that will make this work.

    The only way to connect a wireless xbox 360 controller to a PC is with the xbox 360 USB wireless adapter for windows. You can also buy a purely wired xbox 360 controller from xbox or a 3rd party manufacturer: they all will work.

    I would suggest an xbox one controller as those wireless controllers DO turn into a wired controller when a micro USB cable is used. Bluetooth is also available on newer ones.

    Is it a wired controller?

    For 360 controllers to work on PC without any additional hardware, they must be wired. The 360 play and charge for wireless controllers
    won't turn a wireless controller into a wired one. The reason is simply because the play and charge can not send data, it only provides power.

    Hi,

    There is no driver to download or update for Xbox 360 controllers on Windows 10. You just plug them in.

    Note: Xbox 360 wireless controllers can not be turned into wired controllers. A 360 play and charge cable can only charge a battery or power the controller if no battery is present, it does not send data.

    • If you have a wired 360 controller just plug it in, no driver required
    • If your controller is wireless, you need an Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows.
