xbox 360 wired controller not recognized by pc/ driver for controller no working

I have tried all the tips and trouble shooting to connect my new xobx 360 controller to my pc. I have windows 10 downloaded, the latest as asked and have tried to get the computer to recognized the device. It works fine on my xbox though. I was wondering
it there was a way to find out what the problem is, the computer, the driver or the controller. Or if someone has had/knows of this problems and knows something else I can try? Thanks!

Xbox - controler compatibilty with PC

I can see how this is confusing for you, especially since the official support rep has said to buy the PC branded Xbox 360 wired controller. I can however concur with previous ambassadors response.
You don't need to buy the PC branded controller.
A standard Xbox 360 wired controller will work fine.

The only difference between the two is that the PC branded one comes with a driver disc. However, you don't need this driver disc if your PC is connected to the Internet as the drivers can be downloaded directly from Microsoft

Typically, if you're running either Windows Vista or Windows 7, the driver should download automatically as soon as the controller is connected to the computer. No driver is required to be downloaded for Windows 8, as Xbox 360 controllers are fully
supported by that OS already.

My Xbox wired controller works fine on my PC.

 

Wireless Xbox One Controller (wired connection) will no longer be recognized on PC

i have been using a wireless xbox one controller (connected through USB cable to PC) on my PC for quite some time. While i was in a game, the controller suddenly 'shut-off' (the indication for this was that it would not respond in game and the middle xbox
light had turned off). I then went through my Device Manger and deleted the driver while the controller was unplugged, I then plugged the controller back in (driver installed successfully) and i was able to continue playing.

This actually happened about 3 times and i fixed it the same way every time. On the third time however, after plugging the controller back in, the driver did not re-install and wouldnt even be recognized by my PC. I know there is
power going into the controller because when i click the middle xbox button it starts to flash as if it were trying to sync to a console.

Also i must mention that i own 2 xbox one controllers. My other controller seems to re-install the driver and continue working just fine. And even after doing this and plugging my 'bad' xbox one controller back in, it still is not being recognized at all
by the PC.

 

I bought a Xbox 360 wireless controller a while ago, the controller was working fine before I got windows 10. Everything connects and the device says that it's running properly but when I enter any game I can't get the controller to work at all. So like
I said everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that I can't use the controller in a game or anywhere for that matter. Any ideas? Thanks!
