XBOX 360 WIRED CONTROLER WONT GET RECOGNIZED

So i had 1 controller which worked perfectly fine yesterday til now, and i went and bought another xbox 360 controller which is also wired to play 2 player games with friends.

When I got home i tested both controllers if they worked fine, at first they did but then after an hour the older controller started to not be recognized while the new one remained the new dominant power.

Is there a way to fix my problem?

Thank you for coming to the forum today, Sorry to hear you having this issue,

Can i ask are both the controller Microsoft one or compatable version ?

I would also recommend that all your controllers are checked to make sure they are upto date with the latest version (only applies to Microsoft Controllers)

can you also check if both controller work one at a time ?

Change the port your new controller is plugged into and see if it works. If it doesn't, plug the controller into your computer and see if it recognises it.

Perform a hard reset of the console by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and then try again.

If it has broken and it was not your fault, contact the seller, explain what had happened and ask to get it repaired or replaced.

Depending on which country you're from, you may have rights when it comes to refunds and returns.

For example the UK has a "Consumer Rights Act". While I don't think the US has any equivalent, it might be worth checking local state laws.

If the Xbox 360 controller is a wired controller, then the controller can be used on the PC, just plug it in the USB port, and it should recognize it and let you use it. If it is a wireless Xbox 360 controller, then you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows to connect the controller to your PC.

The wireless controller works perfectly fine with steam games but none of the xbox game pass games on the xbox beta app recognize the controller.

I heard that it wont work with a third party receiver, which i use.

Plus unfortunately i am not able to test it with a wired controller.

Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.
