    I have the xbox 360 controllers lying around so thought would connect to new ASUS laptop with inetl i5-6200ucpu 2.30GHZ 64 bit operating windows 10 . But cant seem to make it work. Drivers updated on device manager. It shows up in Device manager and seems
    that device works fine . On the joy.cpl prompt it does not show up nor does it work with xbox app on windows 10 . i am lost for ideas . Is it hardware compatibility. and i have tried two xbox 360 controllers on the laptop. used different usb ports too. assistance
    would be appreciated .

    the sentence in the blue says that i can use the xbox app on windows 10 to check it if the controller is working. so my question is can it work on your xbox one the xbox 360 controller while using the xbox app on windows 10?

    Set up a wired controller on Windows 10

    I would like to use Windows 10 and the Xbox App to play games on the big screen TV. I have a home theater PC connected to the tv.

    The Xbox 360 controller works on PC with Xbox App. The keyboard and headphones do not.

    It would be most useful to have full windows support for the Xbox 360 controller keyboard.

    I could browse the internet using 360 keyboard and Cortana with headset microphone.

    I would like to type in Wordpad, and Edge web browser.

    Full mouse and key board support.

    Sell 360 pc controller dongle again, or verify if the new dongle stick works with 360 controller keyboard.

    Support wired and wireless again in Windows 10.

    If you re read the question I already have my Xbox 360 controller working in windows with the wireless receiver….

    The problem is when I stream the Xbox one s neither the fanatec wheel, 360 controller or wired logitec contoller can control the Xbox one….

    All work fine in windows ‘gaming contollers’ or whatever it’s called these days

    I have a VERY similar issue... i think you are talking about a wired 360 controller, but I am more specifically talking about a wired 360 guitar (controller). mine also is recognized by windows 10 as a 360 controller (not a guitar), and despite everything I do with them (i have 2)... it will not work on my xbox 1 x through windows 10 (and the xbox companion app built into windows 10). I was able to get my xbox 1 wired regular controller to work using windows 10. if you find an answer, please let me know, it will likely fix my issue as well, even though my issue is slightly different

    Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
    wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.
