Xbox 360 Wired Connection - IP Address Error

I have done all of the steps that are possible for me to do and i cant get past connection to the network part of chain.

I use my university's wireless internet and therefore have no access to resting modems or routers or whatever.

I have tried connection my Ethernet cable directly to the socket in my wall and also through my laptop in both times I get the same error.

I have tried to do a static IP through using an online guide but i still got the same error afterwards.

The uni Wifi requires you to enter the MAC address of your console, and I have done this and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

wifi issues

So recently my xbox one has not been able to connect to my wifi network. It has before in the past and one day up and stopped working. I've called xbox customer support and went through troubleshoot steps with them but so far they have not helped. The wifi network shows up but whenever i try to test the network connection i get an error message that says 'cannot get an IP address'. I tried a wired connection and that works but i am not able to keep it wired all the time. If anyone might have a solution please help!

So i decided to get windows 8 today and, i wanted to play XBOX. I use a wired connection (laptop to xbox). I even followed the bridge connection instructions to bridge the connection. I connect my xbox i try the test and it say IP address Error cant seem
to obtain IP address from my router. I even set the settings to automatic but still nothing.

Please help.

May I ask, have you try to reach out to the IT department of the University you're located in, to have them know about your situation?
