Xbox 360 virtual machine is not working anymore how do I fix it?

OK so long story short I was playing borderlands 1 on the xbox one in xbox 360 mode with my friend last night when his Internet cut out. Both of us on Ones.

My borderlands is still working fine but he cannot play any xbox 360 games on his One anymore without changing to a completely different WiFi source. I assumed this was a DNS issue or something and had him do a full hard reboot, clear his xbox 360 virtual machine data and test his network connection through the settings none of which bore fruit.

Note its EXCLUSIVELY xbox 360 games on his xbox one that isn't working. His xbox one games are working fine. Both my xbox one and 360 games are working fine so it is not an issue with borderlands nor his hardware.

I theorise the sudden loss of Internet has caused some data or cache of some kind to courrupt in his 360 VM. But I'm not familiar enough with games consoles to know how to fix this issue, so any help would be massively appreciated. I'm a computer technician as my day job so assume I've approached this like a standard computer issue, but don't be afraid of double checking the basics since not all my knowledge with PCs are cross transferable.

Its the same stuff as PC. Connecting to a mobile hotspot is only way to fix issue right now.

Sorry about that but with Windows 10 its not working anymore...

The only way i found to get it work its to make a virtual machine with vista or 7 ( check on internet who to set a virtual machine on your computer ) .

There's no reason it couldn't be done. All games on the One are run as virtual machines. The 360 did backwards compatibility with virtual machines as well. Not sure they'll take the time and effort to do it but it would be a great feature.

The only work around i found to play that game on Windows 10 , its to make a virtual machine with Windows 7 or vista, install Fable 3 on it and you will be able to play it.

If you cant make a virtual machine, i suggest you to check on internet the how to.

Although I would love to believe what you're saying, I just cannot. According to my research, as long as the website "services.gamesforwindows.com" is down, there is no way the Games for Windows Marketplace can function correctly, as in retrieve users' information,
purchase history, license files, product keys, allow content download, etc. no matter what a user tries to do. That website and its resources are critical to the GFWM's functionality. This is strictly a backend problem on Microsoft's end and only their engineers
can fix this.
