    XBOX 360 via WLAN Devolo Problems


    Hello Forum

    I have a XBOX 360 (Model 1439). The WLAN connection directly with a router works perfectly. But in another room where I don't have a singal, I am using a powerline adapter (devolo), but this works only if I disable encoding to none. If I have WPA2 or WPA/WPA2
    it's not working. The WLAN is set to 2,4GHz only because the XBOX only support 2,4GHz as far as I know...

    Any hints on that? Thanks

    Powerline adapters are known to not work when encoding is turned on. Either leave the encoding off or get an Ethernet connection.

    This seems to be an issue with the Powerline Adapter then, as you say the direct connection to the router works.

    Please contact the Devolo support for advice on how to get this working without having to disable your WiFi encryption.

    WPA 2 not working!

    It's a shame, Devolo basically created such problems .....

    My second WLAN-Adapter runs in WPA-mode since he got installed ....

    I mentioned a strong lack of speed in this WiFi. It's quite devious, cause this WiFi is my sister's one. :-D

    But I'm still looking forward to check out now solution options.

    Pestering Devolo seems to be the most efficient way, but I simply do not have enough nerves for this intervention....

    Xbox refuses to connect to new wireless network

    Guess what? It really was the WPA2 security setup of the Devolo. The 360 seems to have a problem with that. Setting the Devolo to WEP or WPA solved the connection issues. Any idea why? I thought the 360 is capable to handle WPA2?!
