    XBOX 360 USB Cannot copy films from USB to Disk, yet I can play them from inbuilt Video Player


    Hi. I have got various format films on USB stick which I can play using the inbuilt Video Player.

    But when I go into the Menu System and then Storage they are not showing up and so I can't copy them to the Hard Disk.

    Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    Or do I need an official XBOX 360 USB stick? Amazon has an 8GB stick for £13.49 which is expensive for only 16GB.

    No, there's no way to transfer video files to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The best way to play your video files is by putting them onto a USB drive and playing them from the built in video player.

    You cannot burn any Xbox 360 game. But ues you can download the free ganes to flash drives and play them from there. Here is a link about using flash drives

    No, there's no way to transfer video files to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The best way to play your video files is by putting them onto a USB drive and playing them from the built in video player.

    Unfortunately doesn't work. The problem definitely lies with copying the files from my pc to the external disk. I've tried 2 different ext. hd and 2 different xboxs and same problem, I cannot get the 360 to recognize my saved files when I copy them from
    my pc to the xbox formatted usb key/external hard disk. I've formatted the drives to fat 32 through my 360 and also with my pc and still have the same issue.

    You cannot copy music from an iPod or any other USB device to your console. The console can read most USB devices and play the music from them but if you want the music stored on your console, the only way to do that is by putting the music in a CD and ripping
    it from the CD to your console.

    I'm sorry for the very late reply.

    Others may say to store them on a PC then move them to another USB stick but this cannot be done as the files will be immediately written to a format that the PC can read making them useless anyway.

    What do you mean by that? I doubt that by simply copying the files from the USB stick they're suddenly changing their format. The format of the USB stick is NTFS, which the Xbox 360 and a PC can both read. And the USB stick is completely fine, really. The
    files just can't be accessed by the Xbox 360 anymore, despite all of them being there. It's just like I wrote in my first post.
