Xbox 360 update purposely will not update?

2 days ago a pop up update for the xbox 360. I have trouble shooting with virtual and phone. After all seven options trouble shooting I was told I need to repair my console. This can not be right. How is it my xbox 360 was working without issue until this
update. I've tried to bypass the update and still doesn't work. If someone can offer another solution please help. See I cannot help but think the was intentional to force me to buy a new device. I only use my xbox 360 to watch movies not to play games.

1080p supported or not?

I could have sworn that I used to stream 1080p on my xbox 360 up until recent update... Netflix support informed me that it is up to device manufacturers to decide what resolution their device will support through the netflix app. They also told me that
Xbox opted to only support up to 720p! WTF?? They are purposely limiting quality? For what purpose??

Sorry, you are incorrect. The Xbox 360 architecture is PowerPC-based. The Xbox One is x86-based. These are completely different with different instruction sets. The GPUs are also different between the two consoles. The OS is, in fact, different also.
The analogies were fine. You seem to think Microsoft is purposely withholding a simple "update" to support 360 games on the One out of "spite." This is simply not the case. If it were easy, it would be done, as it would only help sales of the One at this
point.

My sis had to download her update to a USB drive and then add it to her xbox. Something was wrong with that update.....

If you have an Xbox 360 with a 4GB Memory unit, what usually happens is that 4GB MU Fails losing the system update. And it tries to download the update but can't because the MU does not work any longer.

There hasn't been an update for the 360 in quite some time and its not an update that was pushed out to kill your Xbox. The 360 console with the 4GB MU will just fail after a period of time.

People can update an avatar, but it won't actually be updated anywhere?

Are you using instant on so the updates can be downloaded while you are offline?

Why is there no answer for this...same here 128 gig pny 3.0 i bought for the purposes of videos from pc to xbox and now my xbox one or 360 wont recognize it...i spent money n the update ruined it...how was there no answer
